Former Virginia governor and Republican senator George Allen spoke at UMass on energy policy Wednesday. Allen’s key points were in favor of achieving energy independence through clean coal, nuclear power, advancements in nanotechnology and fewer restrictions on off-shore drilling for oil in the United States. The former governor and senator supported Sen. John McCain’s energy plan while arguing against Sen. Barack Obama’s proposed policies.
