I'm sorry but I don't see how any of this is help us. Both my husband and I are unemployed. Our income has gone from $6600 a month to $1074 a month. That is not even enough to pay our mortgage payment, forget all the other bills. Our mortgage has gone into foreclosure so that we can keep our phone and electric so we can keep looking for jobs. The only jobs we see posted are for $7.21 to $8.00 and hour. This amount would not even come close to helping us pay our bills. We are both hard working people that got laid off from our jobs. After losing almost $60,000 in our 401K we were finally forced to withdraw what was left to life on until we found jobs. Knowing the government was going to get 25% of what was left of it in taxes. What was left lasted us 5 months, even though we were careful not to purchase anything we did not need. Well the retirement is now gone and they have created this stimulus package, and I don't see where it is going to help us. They are helping the poor once again, they were already receiving food stamps, reduced housing, free or reduced medical, EIC and child tax credit (which we were not eligible for because we both worked when our children were little, our youngest turned 17 this year, you lose child tax credit the year your child turns 17) We have applied for help with our mortgage company but no help has come yet. They won't give us food stamps because we have to many assets. (We had to much money in the bank because we were putting every penny we had left after the electric, water, and phone into saving up for closing on our loan modification). We have had to use $1400 of the money that was supposed to go toward our mortgage to buy food. Now we have less than $500 in the bank and they are saying we have plenty of money to buy food because we are not paying our mortgage. It's in foreclosure, we are still responsible for it. We are not asking for hand out, we did try selling our house, but right now we need a roof over our head. We are not first time homebuyers, we already own a home, have for almost 10 years. Our son has dropped out of college because the Pell Grant won't cover the first $13,800 which is going by what our income was last year. So I have eliminated EIC, Child Tax Credit, First-Time homebuyers credit, and Education Credit. What is left to help us, we have worked long hard hours for the last 22 years raising our familly, putting away for college, getting ready for retirement. Never collecting anything from any welfare or low income societies, now when we need help, there is nothing out there for us. It makes me wonder if we shouldn't have sat on our butts for the last 22 years and collected welfare. We would be better off today. Instead, stupid us we worked hard to earn everything we have just to lose it all in this wonder economic stimulus package.

Sorry to be the one to tell you but, this "stimulus' package is not going to bring about the "change" and "hope" you were expecting. Maybe if you were to use your mind and body to create your own destiny, you wouldn't need to cling to the empty promises that these politicians and false prophets trick you into buying.

Next election, vote for any party other than the 2 super parties (i.e. - Democrat, Republican).

They've been screwing things up for far too long now and we are all suffering the consequences of their lies.

It's time for a new America!

Does the Stimulus package require employers to pay for 65% of ALL health benefits under COBRA, including dental insurance?
