UPDATE: Review Coverage of the November 8 Senate Forum

On Sunday November 8, The Amherst Wire and The Daily Collegian collaborated to bring live coverage of the Massachusetts Senate Forum hosted by the League of Women Voters and co-sponsored by WFCR 88.5 FM. The event took place at Stockbridge Hall in Bowker Auditorium at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Five of the six candidates were present to discuss topics ranging from the economy to the war in Afghanistan and the committees they would sit on if elected.

The Amherst Wire embedded the live streaming video from the Daily Collegian and hosted their own twitter feed and live chat for readers to discuss the event.

This was the first time that Amherst Wire reported live from an event on campus in this way. You can review the chat log below of all the comments and topics that were brought up during the debate.

Caitlin Coughlan

Caitlin Coughlan is a junior journalism major at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In the summer of 2009, she completed an internship in the Governor’s Press Office where she took photos of events attended by the Governor and Lieutenant Governor as well as worked on image maps, multimedia research, and other projects. In the spring of 2009, she became one of the Editors of The Amherst Wire. Caitlin has previous journalism experience at the Daily Collegian as a news photographer and during high school contributed articles and photos to her local newspaper at home.
