Steve Fox
Lecturer, UMass Journalism
Steve has 20 years of experience as an editor and reporter for print and online publications, including 10 as an editor in various capacities at The Washington Post’s award-winning Web site. Prior to joining The Post, he was a sportswriter and editor at different publications for about 10 years, including serving as the national college basketball writer for United Press International. In the fall of 2007, Steve joined the journalism faculty at UMass Amherst to teach convergence and multimedia journalism. Read full bio…

Ashleigh Bennett
Ashleigh is a senior journalism major at UMass Amherst. She focuses in photojournalism, and works as a photographer for the University. Previous experience includes writing for student run media on campus, photographing various events, and being selected for a travel photojournalism course in Sicily, Italy. One day she hopes to work for National Geographic. In her spare time she enjoys dance, sewing, and reading.

Richard Caesar
Richard is a senior journalism major at UMass Amherst and director of UMass This Week, UVC-TV’s weekly news show.

Jackie Hai
Jackie is a senior undergraduate studying journalism and philosophy at UMass Amherst. Trained in all the tools of convergence, Jackie works with words, photos, audio and video to tell a story. Currently, she is a teaching assistant for Steve Fox’s multimedia journalism class, program director at UVC-TV, and web editor and tech consultant for the Western Massachusetts Community Journalism project.

Weekly web radio: The pre-debate show
The Amherst Wire and Commonwealth College collaborated to host an event Wednesday night for students interested in watching and talking about final presidential debate. Politikos Discourse, AW’s web radio show, went on the air at 8 p.m. for students and faculty to talk about their expectations and predictions prior to the debate, and ComCol held a post-debate a discussion led by a panel of professors in Goodell Lounge. Web radio show premieres Oct. 1st
This Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST, we are kicking off an exciting new project on Amherst Wire — Politikos Discourse, a weekly web radio talk show. Hosted by junior political science major Kenneth Sentamu, Politikos Discourse will be a live forum for students to talk about controversial issues of the times. Listeners can call in or comment on the blog to have their opinions read on the air. More... (0)
